After a pretty serious arc, this episode definitely needed to be on the lighter side of things. There was some great humor thanks to Nitou’s antics. I liked that he ran away from the fight just so he wouldn’t have to transform in front of his grandmother. Even while hiding and sitting on the floor, he still bothers to make the same movements during the transformation. Oh man, this guy… The most notable thing in this episode was Nitou’s “disguising” himself as “Mahou Shoujo Beast.” It was ridiculous what he did, but you can’t help but laugh at the silliness of it. Pretending to fight with feminine movements and a feminine voice and even a gratuitous ass shot to the camera really stuck out. BTW, this episode was responsible for new fanart on Pixiv.
Haruto’s Rings and Nitou’s Rings got swapped, but it seemed only Haruto could make use of them. How convenient that he was able to use the Dolphin Ring while utilizing his Water Style, right? Gremlin is still a mystery as to what his motive is. He’s sneaky and I feel he’s also conniving since he sorta influenced Phoenix’s actions. What is his game, and why does he need to “tee-hee” like that?
Interestingly enough, Nitou’s grandmother is the Gate for this arc. The first Gate related to a Kamen Rider, in fact. It was pretty bold of her to stand up to the Phantom, telling him to make her despair. She only did it after hearing Nitou needs to consume Phantoms in order to survive, so props to granny for that. Too bad Shunpei had to take the hit for her and now he just screwed the gang over again. Is Shunpei ever gonna be anything but trouble?
